How It Works

Welcome to Mr. Destasher, where great canvases get a second act (and you get your space back).

We make consigning easy, transparent, and totally stitcher-friendly — here’s how the magic happens:


🕓 Step 1: What to Expect

We move as fast as our coffee lets us, typically 1–2 weeks from the time your package lands at our door.

We don’t send automatic delivery confirmations, so keep your tracking number handy .


🧵 Step 2: Pick Your Pieces

Go “shopping” in your own stash! Gather unstitched, like-new canvases, stitch guides, and threads that deserve a new home.

Before boxing them up, make sure everything is:

  • Clean, crisp, and free of any “been-in-a-closet-since-1998” vibes.

  • Odor-free, not yellowed, and in great shape.

  • Packed neatly and ready for their close-up.


🚫 Step 3: Skip the No-Gos

We love variety, but not everything qualifies. 

(Think: no stitched or partially stitched canvases, vintage yellows, belts, or accessories that have seen better days.)


📦 Step 4: Send It Our Way

Include a note inside your box with your name, address, phone number, and email that’s how we link your goodies to your account.

📝 Step 5: The Sorting & Pricing Show

Once we open your box, we’ll add it to our site based off of.

  • The original retail value.

  • A suggested sale price (usually around 30% off retail).

You’ll receive the difference by check after the item(s) have been sold and the sales have been tallied.


💼 Step 6: We Do the Work

From photos to listings, marketing, and shipping, we handle every step. You get to relax while your canvases find their next fans.

Commission breakdown:

  • 40% for items sold 


🔖 Step 7: Smart Discounting

We gently nudge items along the way:

  • 10% after 60 days

If you prefer to hold firm on pricing, just let us know.


💰 Step 8: Getting Paid

Sales are tallied twice a month, around the 1st and the 15th, and payouts go out shortly after.


Checks usually reach you within about 7–10 days after they’re mailed.


⚠️ The Fine Print (Because We Have To)

Liability
We treat your items like our own, but we can’t take responsibility for loss or damage caused by fire, theft, or carrier mishaps.

Ownership
By sending items, you confirm they belong to you and you’re entitled to proceeds from any sales. We can’t accept packages sent on someone else’s behalf.

Inventory Timeline
Items stay listed for up to three years. If they haven’t sold by then, they’ll be donated unless you request their return (shipping costs apply).

U.S. Only
At this time, consignments are accepted only from within the United States.
